By Staff

Glenview, Illinois, Jun 1 (UNI) Ace Indian pro Arjun Atwal carded a three-under 69 with a total of eight-under 208 to be tied 11th place in a roller-coaster third round of the Nationwide Tour's 750,000 dollars Bank of America Open here.

The Indian golfer was four shots behind the leaders, up at the top there were three players Kris Blanks (69), Skip Kendall (71) and David McKenzie (67) deadlocked at 12-under par 204.

The winner of the Malaysian Open on Asian and European Tours this year had a great start with a birdie on first that was supplement with another on fifth. However, after that Atwal had three bogeys in succession from the sixth to the eight to holes to slip down the board.

Meanwhile, Atwal regained his composure with a birdie on 10th and then three successive birdies on 14th, 15th and 16th. A par on 18th saw him close at 69 and gave him an outside chance at his first Nationwide title.
