Atwal tied 52nd in Honda Classic Golf
Palm Beach Gardens, USA, Mar 2 (UNI) Arjun Atwal carded a lacklustre two-over par 72 on the opening day to finish tied 52nd at the Honda Classic golf tournament here.
The Indian had an uneven start with four pars and dropped two shots. He then parred the next nine before birdying the 15th, but on the very next hole he dropped a shot again to finish at 72.
Atwal, who is on a limited exemption, has played just two events this season. He was tied 35th at the AT&T Pebble Beach and missed the cut at Maykoba Classic in Mexico.
Meanwhile, Daniel Chopra bogeyed the 12th and 17th to be two-over par after eight holes. But two birdies saw him come to even. A bogey on fifth and a birdie on ninth enable him end the day at even par 70.
Korea's Charlie Wi took the first round lead after opening with a five-under 65 yesterday. He sank seven birdies against two dropped shots.
