Aung La N Sang vs Fan Rong added to ONE Fight Night 10 card

Singapore, Febraury 17: Former two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang turned his fortunes around significantly in 2022, and he has been rewarded with his dream of fighting on ONE Championship's inaugural US card.

"The Burmese Python" will take to the stage on Friday, 5 May (EST), at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III when The Home of Martial Arts makes its first voyage to the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, meeting China's Fan Rong in middleweight action.

Since coming up short to Reinier de Ridder, Myanmar's favorite son has won three of his last four bouts, with his most recent outings showcasing stunning performances.

Last November's ONE 162 saw him stop MMA legend Yushin Okami inside the first frame. That was followed by a return at ONE Fight Night 6 in January, where the Kill Cliff FC athlete toppled Brazilian behemoth Gilberto Galvao in the opening round to set up his homecoming.

While Aung La N Sang may originate from Myanmar, the middleweight titan has resided in the United States for 20 years, and the clash in Colorado will mark his first outing in America in a decade.

The 37-year-old's opponent, Fan, comes as a rescheduled bout after the Chinese martial artist withdrew from their initial clash in January. But his second chance at Aung La N Sang is a massive opportunity in itself for the 29-year-old to join the World Title picture.

At 2-2, "King Kong Warrior" holds a mixed bag of results in his ONE tenure, however, the stature of his opponents speaks volumes of his abilities.

Despite coming up short to former ONE World Champions in De Ridder and Vitaly Bigdash, the middleweight monster has also picked up a pair of wins over grappling veteran Yuri Simoes and Sherif Mohamed, amassing an MMA record of 19-3 in the process.

Undoubtedly, the night will be the biggest test of his career against yet another former World Champion, and with both scrappers owning 44 finishes among their 48 combined wins, both will be looking to add another clinical stoppage to their respective resumes.
