Australian team arrive in Jaipur amid tight security

Jaipur, Sep 22 (UNI) A 15-member Australian cricket team led by Ricky Ponting and minus Andrew Symonds arrived at the Sanganer Airport amid tight security arrangements here tonight.

The team was also accompanied by Greg Chapell-the former Team India coach and now the director of Center of Execellency in Australia. Chapell, who is also a consultant coach of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), will play a new role for his national team in the four test series commencing at Banglore from October 9.

RCA deputy vice president B R Soni said the visiting team will take rest tomorrow at thier hotel and would go for practice session from next day before playing a warm up tie against the host Rajasthan Cricket Association team on September 27-28.

Chapell said the players came to Jaipur and all are fit for the test series. ''This is wrong that the Australian team is week. It is a good team'', he said.

The team - Ricky Ponting (captain), Matthew Hayden, Doug Bollinger, Stuart Clarke, Michael Clark, Brad Haddin, Michael Hussey, Phil Jaques, Mitchell Johnson, Simon Katich, Jason Kreja, Brett Lee, Bryce McGain, Peter Siddle, Shane Watson.
