Avlani, Thakker to participate in Willingdon junior championship

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Top juniors like Karan Avlani, Rakshay Thakker and Pune's Arjun Kadhe will lead a strong boys team in the Willingdon Sports Club All India Ranking Championship Series tennis tournament, to be held at the Willingdon Sports Club, Mahalaxmi, from April 21 to 27.

Challenging the trio are Vinod Gowda, Srikar Alla, Vishal Passi and Parth Shah, all from Mumbai.

The girls' team is equally strong with the formidable Vaidehi Bhagvat, Madhuri Pathare and Riddhi Hegde in the fray.

Challenging them will be other top juniors including Sayali Patil, Sukhmani Wadhwa and Gauri Baindoor.

But the dark horse will be Mumbai's 10-year-old Snehadevi S Reddy, who is on a roll and is likely to scalp a few seeds.

The tournament is being held under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA).
