AVT DT with nine points annexed team title

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) In a two-way tie, AVT DT with nine points annexed the team event title in the inaugural Rotary Club of Madras Alchemy Corporate Golf Challenge, at the Guindy Golf Course here.

The team, comprising Dilip Thomas (three points) and Sanjeev Mehra (six points), was declared the winner based on a better back half score, pushing Muruguppa Group to the runner-up spot yesterday.

Murugappa Group too finished with nine points, with Arun Murugappan (eight points) and C V Yudhvir (one point).

In the individual events, Krishna Prasad won the title 0-9 handicap category with ten points, while Ishwar Achanta with three points finished runner-up.

Mr K Jagannathan with 12 points won the 10-18 category.

The tournament, which attracted 119 participants from more than 50 companies, was a fund raising event. The proceeds would be given to the Ray of Light Foundation, to help cancer patients.

Former India cricket captain K Srikkanth gave the prizes to the winners at a function last night.
