B R Gulati appointed interim secretary general of IWJ

Pune, May 8 (UNI) The Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has appointed its vice-president Sqd Ldr Baldev Raj Gulati as the interim secretary general.

His appointment happened in the wake of sudden resignation of incumbent Balbir Singh Bhatia due to personal and health reasons, said IWF President Harbhajan Singh in an e-mail here today.

''Having served the IWF for nearly five decades in various capacities, I am indeed priviledged to have been appointed as the secretary general,'' said Gulati, while reacting to the news.

Gulati is also chairman (Monitoring Committee) of the SAI Weightlifting coaching scheme and president of the Maharashtra State Weightlifting Association (MSWA).
