Bagan re-start KPL with 3-0 win

Kolkata, Sep 26 (UNI) Mohun Bagan began their campaign in the second phase of the Kolkata Premier League (KPL) with a convincing 3-0 victory against George Telegraph at their home ground today.

While George defender Sanjoy Mallick scored a sameside goal in the eighth minute, Bagan rode to two more goals courtesy Brazilian striker Jose Barreto's double strike in the 57th and 80th minute.

Bagan as usual had sharpness in its movement thanks to experienced midfielder S Venkatesh and Barreto's excellent feeding to their forwards Lalawmpuia and L James Singh.

The suicide goal came off an Anit Ghosh effort inside the box on a James Singh flag-kick.

Bagan's second goal was the result of Barreto's accurate header of a James Singh flag-kick from the right. And the Brazilian striker struck his second and team's third goal through a solid right footer after Lalawmpuia fed him capping a fine sprint down the left.
