Bangalore, Andhra Varsity advance in Volleyball tourney

Vijayawada, Dec 31 (UNI)Bangalore and Andhra registered their third victories in the knock-cum-league tournament of the South-West Zone Inter University Volleyball women tournament held here today.

Bangalore beat Dr H S Gour 25-14,25-8,25-7, while Andhra defeated Dr NTR Univesity of Health Sciences, 25-9,25-10 and 25-21.

Amaravathi beat Acharya Nagarjuna University, 25-20,25-20, 25-20, Kerala defeated Karnataka (women) University 25-04, 25-19, 25-11, Karnataka Dharwad outwitted JNTU 25-12, 25-11,25-10 and Bharathiar University defeated Mumbai University, 25-21,25-19, 25-16.

In the other matches, Periyar University beat Solapur, 30-28, 26-24, 25-15 in an exciting encounter, Anna University defeated Mother Teresa, 25-6, 25-6, 25-12, Mangalore beat University of Rajasthan, 25-8,25-11, 25-12, Jiwali defeated Kuvempu, Karnataka 25-16, 25-22, 25-20 and Mysore University outplayed Marathwada Agricultural University, 25-5, 25-1, 25-5.
