London, Aug.18 : Fans of former England soccer captain David Beckham are reportedly demanding that he takeover crisis-torn L A Galaxy.
According to The Sun, Becks, 33, has emerged as the No.1 choice to succeed Dutch master Ruud Gullit, who left along with axed general manager Alexi Lalas last week after a disastrous run of results.
The former England captain and Man United hero scored a massive 82 percent in an online fans' poll on who they want in charge.
"He's the only one with the experience, strength and knowledge to save us from sinking," David Cordillo, a leader of hardcore fans' group The Riot Squad, said.
"David is definitely in close talks with the owners. Don't be surprised to see him step into the big job," an L A Galaxy official was quoted, as saying on condition of anonymity.
