Becky Hammon Reaches 150th WNBA Win As Las Vegas Aces Edge Golden State Valkyries

Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon reached her 150th WNBA victory as the team beat the Golden State Valkyries 91-81. The result on Sunday made Hammon the second-fastest coach to hit that mark, doing so in 205 games, behind only Van Chancellor’s 198 with the Houston Comets.

Aces forward A'ja Wilson drove the 2025 champions to the win with 28 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. Guard Jackie Young added 23 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, as Las Vegas improved its season record to 5-3 and maintained momentum in the early campaign.

Hammon hits 150th WNBA win

Hammon’s 150th victory extends an already strong coaching record with the Las Vegas Aces. Since taking charge in 2022, Hammon has led the team to three championships in four seasons. That achievement places Hammon among only four coaches who have claimed three WNBA titles in league history.

The Las Vegas Aces milestone for Becky Hammon and the team’s performance against the Valkyries can be seen in key numbers from the night and from Hammon’s tenure to date.

Wilson linked the Las Vegas Aces success and Becky Hammon milestone to the coach’s influence in the locker room and on the court. Wilson highlighted how Hammon supports players through mistakes and pressure moments and stressed that this trust shapes the team’s response in close contests.

She instils so much power and so much confidence in us, Wilson said of Hammon. I think that's one of the reasons why I will do whatever it takes to get her wins and to get her to be the one. I have been coached by some phenomenal women and men but when it comes to Becks, what sticks out to me is she gives us so much grace. It's to a point where I can't even be mad at times when I'm furious at myself. She is the first person to say, 'Don't worry about it.' She trusts you, and I trust her.

After the Las Vegas Aces win and Becky Hammon milestone, Hammon pointed to the group’s shared work over four seasons. Hammon said the players’ character and their connection drive the team’s progress and make the pursuit of wins more meaningful across long campaigns.

I get 150 [wins] with some of the greatest human beings to ever play. I love them. We're in this battle together, and we fight for each other. You hear it time in and time out that a player would run through a wall for their coach, but this coach would run through a wall for them. What stands out the most to me is how much I enjoy the process. We're a process kind of team. If you go through the right process, you get good results. The results will be there.

The Las Vegas Aces and Becky Hammon now carry this milestone into the rest of the WNBA season. With a 5-3 record, three titles since 2022 and strong displays from leaders like A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young, the Aces continue to build on a period of sustained success.
