Bhutia ensures victory for Mohun Bagan

Kolkata, Nov 25: Bhaichung Bhutia scored the decisive goal as former champions Mohun Bagan maintained their winning streak in the Indian League, edging past Mahindra United 1-0 at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan here today.

Bhutia fired the all important salvo in the 46th minute. The match, which saw the local giant dominating the proceedings right from word go, saw the only goal being scored when a Lalkamal Bhowmik pass was brilliantly slotted in by Bhaichung in the very first minute after the lemon break (1-0). The first half was goalless.

With this win, Bagan stood second in the rankings, while Mahindra sank further down.
