Bindra refuses to indulge in controversy

{image-Abhinav bindra_19092008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Jaipur, Sep 19: India's first individual gold medallist Abhinav Bindra has refused to pass any comment on the controversy created by National Rifle Association of India (NRI) president Digvijay Singh, who had said that Bindra and Jaspal Rana are' ungrateful' for not acknowledging the system's contribution to their success.

Bindra, who was here in the town to flag off a ''Nature Save Rally'' organised by a TV channel, spoke to the mediapersons and said it was unfortunate that unnecessarily a controversy had been created. He said after winning the gold at the Beijing Olympics, he had thanked to all concerns and countrmen for their support and encouragement.

Bindra said after having achieved the highest goal at Beijing, he was blank in mind as what to do now, but gradually he was now making up his mind to win more events. He will were go with the same set up of coaches with which he was going earlier.

Replying to a question, he said he was planning to start a shooting academy either at Delhi or somewhere near Delhi.

The things are in process and he would be taking a final decision soon.

On another question Bindra said it is a fact that adequate shooting facilities were still lacking in the country and all concerned including the government should look into it seriously, if they wanted to improve the level of our upcoming and promising shooters.

While referring to economically poor shooters demand of required adequate equipments, he said all concerned people should come forward to help them.

He burther said he had no plan to marry early.

However Bindra passed an advise to the media to play a constructive role for the betterment of sports in the country.
