Esports company BLAST has partnered with NODWIN Gaming, South Asia's leading esports and gaming media firm, to launch "The Draft" - a Counter-Strike tournament offering Indian and Pakistani teams the chance to compete globally alongside tier-one players.
Running from late January to early February, the tournament boasts a $50,000 prize pool and a unique format.

Sixty-four teams from each nation will start with online qualifiers, leading to group stages where the top three teams qualify for the Super Six LAN event in Kuala Lumpur. Teams will be paired with Counter-Strike legends through a special draft selection process.
To mark The Draft's launch, True Rippers Esports from India and Team WahWah from Pakistan will participate in a BLAST Premier World Final 2023 Showmatch in Abu Dhabi on December 16. A global audience is expected via BLAST's broadcast network, with fan-voted BLAST Premier players joining each showmatch team.
Faye Marlborough, BLAST's Brand Director, highlighted the opportunity for Indian and Pakistani teams to play with global CS legends, fostering growth in emerging esports markets. The Draft aims to serve as a pathway for aspiring players while providing an exciting tournament for global and local fans.
