Body builder seeks govt.assistance

Chennai, Jul 17 (UNI) Ace Bodybuilder M Rajendran, who won the''Champion of Champions'' title in the recently concluded nationals at Aurangabad, today appealed to the Tamil nadu government to grant him the necessary assistance.

Rajendran, who won the title in the 100 plus kg category in the 48th senior national bodybuilding meet, said encouragement from government would spur him to perform better in the future meets.

He said he was the first from Tamil Nadu to have bagged the ''All India Champion of Champions'' title and the gold medal in the nationals.

He also recalled the assistance given by the State government to various sports persons, who had won laurels for the State in national and international meets.

The Indian Bodybuilding federation also hailed his achievement and said he deserved all the encouragement to win more laurels in future.

He had also written a letter to the Tamil Nadu Sports and youth welfare Minister seeking government support.
