Bopanna-Mirnyi moves into quaters of Petersburg Open

St Petersburg, Russia, Oct 23 (UNI) Indian Davis cuper Rohan Bopanna and his new partner Max Mirnyi defeated third seeded Mikhail Youzhny and Mischa Zverev in the opening round of the 1,049,000 dollar St Petersburg Open here.

Bopanna and Belarusian Mirnyi pipped the Russian-German pair 6-3, 6-4 in just over an hour to move into the quaterfinals.

The unseeded Indo-Belarusian pair dropped their serve twice in the first set but compensated by breaking their rivals as many times to take the lead.
