Bopanna-Raja crash out of doubles at Tashkent challenger

Tashkent, Oct 17 (UNI) The Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Purav Raja went down in straight sets in the doubles quarterfinals to crash out of the 1,25,000 dollar Tashkent Challenger here.

Top seeds Oliver Marach of Austria and Lukasz Kubot of Poland put out the Indian pair 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 to enter the semifinals.

Flavio Cipolla of Italy and Pavel Snobel of Czech Republic also made it to the last four accounting for Israeli pair of Harel Levy and Naom Okun 6-7(7-5) 6-4, 10-7.

Third seeded German pair of Michael Kohlmann and Frank Moser easily put out the US Pair of Ryan Young and Nathan Thompson 6-3, 6-2.

Fourth seeded Russian pair of Michail Elgin and Alexandre Kudryatsev scraped past Daniel Press of Denmark and Danai Udomchoke of Thailand 4-6, 6-3,11-9.

Result: Oliver Marach(Aut)/ Lukasz Kubot(Pol) bt Purav Raja/ Rohan Bopanna 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
