Bradley Beal is set to join the Los Angeles Clippers after agreeing to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns. The deal, reported by Shams Charania of ESPN, is for two years and worth $11 million. It includes a player option for the 2026-27 NBA season, potentially making Beal a top free agent next summer. He will return $13.9 million of the $110 million owed by the Suns.
Beal's move to the Clippers will likely see him in their starting lineup alongside James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. This transition comes after his stint with the Suns, where he joined before the 2023-24 season amid high hopes. However, the team struggled, failing to advance past the first round of last season's playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Suns' performance dipped further this past season, missing out on the playoffs entirely with a 36-46 record. Beal was benched in January and concluded the season averaging 17 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds over 53 games. This scoring average was his lowest since his third professional year in 2014-15 when he scored 15.3 points per game for Washington Wizards.
Drafted third overall by Washington in 2012, Beal spent his first eleven seasons there. His career-best scoring came in the 2019-20 season with an average of 30.5 points per game, second only to Harden's league-leading average of 34.3 points that year. Throughout his career, Beal has averaged 21.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 37.6% from beyond the arc.
Beal's journey from Washington to Phoenix and now Los Angeles marks significant changes in his career trajectory as he seeks new opportunities with the Clippers.
