During his recent visit to India, Brazilian volleyball player and Olympic medallist Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho, popularly known as Giba, recently had the chance to interact with and share his experiences with children in a village in Assam.
The 42-year-old Brazilian volleyball icon visited the North-Eastern state coinciding with the Brahmaputra Volleyball League, spearheaded by former Indian volleyball captain Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

A video capturing Giba's encounter with some kids is going viral on social media for his warm gesture. The heartwarming video captures the joy on the faces of young athletes as they meet their hero.
In one of the videos, Giba could be seen touching the feet of a young kid as a mark of respect and embracing other young children. The children reciprocated by touching his feet, an age-old Indian tradition to show a mark of respect towards elders. Blown over by the kids' gesture, the legendary athlete got emotional and folded his hands in respect.

Throughout his interactions, Giba conveyed a simple yet powerful message to the kids: believe in yourself, work hard, and never give up on your dreams. He emphasized that anything is possible if they set their minds to it.
