The New York Liberty showcased their adaptability on the court, earning a 105-97 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks at the Crypto.com Arena. This win marked head coach Sandy Brondello's 100th triumph with the team, equalling Richie Adubato's record for most wins in franchise history. Jonquel Jones contributed significantly with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Leonie Fiebich added 20 points and four assists.
Emma Meesseman was a standout performer for the Liberty, scoring 24 points and adding nine rebounds, four assists, and a block. She credited a more detailed game plan for her performance, saying it helped her better understand the game's dynamics. "I think our approach was a little different, and we paid more attention to details," said Meesseman. "So it made it easier for me to, you know, kind of read more of what's happening on the court."

Brondello praised her team's flexibility and individual talent as key factors in their success. She highlighted Fiebich's favourable matchup against Kelsey Plum as a crucial element in securing the win. "They're switching and doing a whole lot of different things, but just their individual brilliance and talent does the rest," Brondello stated. "Obviously they had Plum on Leo, and that was a favourable matchup for us."
Fiebich's aggressive play was also noted by Brondello, who felt that getting her more involved in actions was beneficial. "We just love the versatility that she brings," Brondello commented. "And I thought she was really aggressive to the rim." The coach acknowledged that Fiebich wasn't as involved in previous games but showed improvement this time around.
The Liberty's ability to adapt positions on the court proved advantageous against the Sparks. Brondello emphasised how crucial it was to get players like Fiebich into action more frequently. Her aggressive approach towards scoring played a pivotal role in their strategy during this game.
This victory not only highlights Brondello's coaching prowess but also underscores the team's depth and skill set. As they continue to refine their strategies game by game, their focus remains on maintaining this momentum throughout the season.
