Bullish Fergie not expecting Man U to capitulate to A C Milan

San Siro (Milan, Italy), Feb.16 (ANI): A bullish Alex Ferguson has said that he is not expecting Manchester United to capitulate again to A C Milan at the San Siro showdown tonight.

Nearly three years ago a Kaka-inspired A C Milan ripped Cristiano Ronaldo's insipid United apart in the San Siro, winning the Champions League semi-final 3-0 to overturn a 3-2 first-leg deficit.

Fergie does not expect a similar capitulation this time round.

He fancies his chances at A C tonight despite United having never scored against the Italians in the San Siro in four goes, losing every game and conceding 10 in the process.

The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying: "There is a maturity we feel has happened over the last few years away from home. There's a distinct change from the last time we were here - the physical part of it in particular."

"In the last game, the physical part was without question the real reason for our performance. We played on the Saturday against Everton and then on Tuesday with the same team against Milan.

"They had been able to rest players so were very fresh, very prepared. We are fresh this time which makes a difference," he added.

"Our expectations are high, they always are with our good players and good team. But they have excellent footballers, five or six have maybe won the European Cup twice and Clarence Seedorf has won it four times with three clubs. You can't buy experience like that and that's their major advantage. But I feel we have experience too," he said. (ANI)
