New Delhi, Aug 12: Walls are closing in on the 'corrupt' Delhi Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organising Committee (OC) as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has now found some discrepancies in its deals.
On initial investigation, the CAG has found some discrepancies in the OC's deals in connection with choosing consultants for global broadcasting rights and sponsorship deal.
According to its interim inspection report, the Suresh Kalamdi-led organising committee had awarded the sponsorship deal to Melbourne-based Sports Marketing and Management (SMAM) at a very cheap price.
Sources revealed that discrepancies were also found in the OC's broadcasting deal with UK"s Fast Track Sales Ltd, which was chosen as the consultant for the broadcasting rights.
Besides this, the report also mentions Maxxam International giving raise to question on the procedures adopted for the Queen"s Baton Relay held in London, sources added.
The CAG inspection was done between Nov 2009 and Jan 2010, long before the slew of corruption charges against the CWG organisers hit the media.
The report has now been sent to the Committee for its comments.
However, it should be noted that this is an inspection report put together by field officers and that the final report may vary.
