Maracaibo(Venezuela) July 14 : Argentina midfielder Esteban Cambiasso said that he was not even contemplating losing to arch-rivals Brazil in the Copa America final.
''It hasn't crossed my mind that Argentina could lose the final,'' said Cambiasso yesterday, who was not in the team when Argentina were beaten on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the final of the 2004 tournament.
''I still haven't thought about it and I hope I don't have to.'' Sunday's final against Argentina's old rivals is a chance to win their first trophy for 14 years.
In the meantime, Brazil have won the World Cup twice, the Copa America three times and the Confederations Cup twice.
Cambiasso brushed aside questions about the absence of Brazil pair Kaka and Ronaldinho, who asked to be rested from the tournament.
''To think about the absence of Kaka and Ronaldinho is a lack of respect to the other Brazilian players,'' he said.
''They weren't picked by playing in the street, they are playing in world class teams. The absence of two of them doesn't mean that Brazil don't have a great potential.
''We are respectful to our opponents but we want to win this cup and we will do the impossible to take it to our country.
