Carroll on loan: Newcastle, Fulham & West Ham eye striker

London, Jul 12: Newcastle United are eyeing a sensational return for flop Liverpool striker Andy Carroll as Fulham, West Ham United and AC Milan are looking to seal a loan deal for the £35 million striker.

Carroll's former club Newcastle, who sold the 23-year-old for a record £35 million to Liverpool in 2011, have shown interest in the striker and are willing to consider a loan deal or a cut-short price to take the Kop striker back to St James' Park.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew confirmed their interest in Carroll and said, "Andy did an absolutely terrific job here. I have always supported him, even while he has been at Liverpool, when a lot of others weren't. I think he got a bit of a raw deal, not by Liverpool, but from the media in general. He is going to be a great player. Where he treads the boards, we will have to wait and see."

Pardew conceded that striker Demba Ba's future remains uncertain with Liverpool heavily linked to the Toon forward. The Senegal striker has a clause in his contract which enables him to quit Newcastle for £7.5 million.

Meanwhile, Fulham will use Liverpool's interest in Clint Dempsey in a loan deal attempt to sign Carroll. The 29-year-old American has scored 23 goals last season while the Londoners believe they have an edge over rivals West Ham and AC Milan with Liverpool keen to sign Dempsey.

West Ham co-owner David Gold is willing to break their budget for the Liverpool striker having returned to the Barclays Premier League. Manager Sam Allardyce wants to begin the campaign by signing Carroll on a loan deal with a buying option for around £15million. However, Liverpool would incur huge losses of £20 million.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers indicated that Carroll could go away from Anfield on a loan deal. Rodgers, who is determined to bring the glorious days back to Anfield, has shown interest in AS Roma's Fabio Borini while reports suggest that Liverpool are prepared to make an £10 million offer for the 21-year old Italian.

Carroll showed promising signs of good form at the end of the last season while his goal at the Euro 2012 against Sweden could only boost his confidence. But the boss doesn't seem to be entirely convinced with the striker.
