Cleveland Cavaliers' Evan Mobley Out For Two-to-Four Weeks With Calf Strain Injury

Cleveland Cavaliers centre Evan Mobley has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 calf strain and will miss two-to-four weeks. This injury comes as the team faces multiple player injuries.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced that Evan Mobley, their All-Star centre, will be out for two to four weeks due to a Grade 1 calf strain. This update came after Mobley sustained the injury during a 130-126 victory over the Washington Wizards. Despite the setback, Mobley contributed significantly with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists in 36 minutes of play.

Mobley's performance this season has been impressive. He is averaging a career-high 19.1 points per game, making him the second-highest scorer for Cleveland. Additionally, he leads the team with averages of 9.3 rebounds and 1.64 blocks per game, placing him fifth in the NBA for blocks. His defensive prowess was recognised when he was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

Evan Mobley Out with Calf Strain Injury

The Cavaliers are currently dealing with multiple injuries within their squad. Jarrett Allen is managing finger injuries on both hands, while Sam Merrill is recovering from a right hand sprain. Max Strus is also on the mend following foot surgery. Despite these challenges, Cleveland holds a strong position in the Central Division with a record of 15-11.

Mobley's recent injury was confirmed through an MRI scan after he felt tightness in his left calf during the game against Washington. The diagnosis revealed a Grade 1 strain, which typically requires a recovery period of two to four weeks. This marks only the second game Mobley will miss this season due to injury.

The Cavaliers' resilience has been notable as they navigate these injury setbacks while maintaining competitive form in their division. The team remains hopeful that Mobley and other injured players will recover swiftly to continue contributing to their success this season.
