Celtics Game 7 Without Tatum As 76ers Rally To Force Decisive Showdown

The Boston Celtics face a decisive Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers without Jayson Tatum. The team confirmed Tatum will miss Saturday night’s win-or-go-home matchup because of a left leg injury. The winner advances to play the New York Knicks in the second round.

Tatum was first listed as questionable earlier on Saturday after appearing on the injury report. The forward exited Game 6 on Thursday with 4:03 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. Medical evaluation since that game led to the decision to rule Tatum out.

Celtics Game 7 Without Tatum

The setback comes after Tatum’s long recovery from a torn right Achilles suffered last season. That injury occurred in the second round of the playoffs against the New York Knicks. Tatum rejoined Boston’s lineup in March and quickly regained rhythm following that major layoff.

Across 16 regular season appearances, Tatum averaged 21.8 points, 10 rebounds and 5.3 assists. Production climbed in the current playoffs, with Tatum posting 23.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists over six games. Boston must now replace that level of all-around impact for the decisive contest.

The 76ers had trailed the series 3-1 but fought back to level it at 3-3. That comeback sets up a tense Game 7, now shaped heavily by Tatum’s absence. Both teams enter knowing a season’s work rests on one night in Boston.
