Boston, Jun 14: Boston Celtics clinched a levelling victory in the best-of-seven NBA finals series against Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, Jun 13.
The Celtics thrashed the Lakers 96-89 in a nail-biting Game 5, which was completely turned around by the hosts in the fourth and the final quarter. Going into the last period, Boston was trailing by two points but refused to give up.
While Glen Davis scored nine of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, Paul Pierce who poured in 19 points
emerged as the top scorer.
Nate Robinson scored 12 points for the Celtics after he was take off the bench and put on the court.
Kobe Bryant scored 33 points for the Lakers.
This was the last game to be played in Boston. Game 6 and Game 7, if required, would be played in LA.
