Celtics Win Against 76ers Demonstrates Team's Potential, According To Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid commends the Philadelphia 76ers for their recent victory over the Boston Celtics, emphasising their potential following a rocky season start. With key players like Tyrese Maxey and himself performing well, Embiid believes they can achieve more as a cohesive unit.

The Philadelphia 76ers showcased their potential with a 118-114 victory over the Boston Celtics. Tyrese Maxey led with 33 points, while Joel Embiid contributed 27 points after being cleared to play despite an ankle twist during warm-ups. Embiid, who was ejected in their previous game, also secured nine rebounds and made four of five three-point attempts.

Philadelphia's win marked their eighth in 11 games following a challenging start to the season. Embiid expressed optimism about the team's future, stating, "We got a high ceiling... It's all about us putting it together." He emphasized the importance of staying healthy and seeking some luck along the way.

Embiid Highlights 76ers' Potential After Celtics Win

Maxey highlighted how recent performances have boosted team morale. "We feel a lot different," he said, acknowledging past challenges with player availability. Maxey noted that injuries disrupted their rhythm but believes they are now finding effective combinations on the court.

The game against Boston saw Philadelphia excel at free throws, making all 19 attempts. This consistency added to their confidence as they continue to improve. The match was only the sixth time this season that Embiid, Maxey, and Paul George were available simultaneously due to George's knee issues.

The Celtics faced difficulties when Kristaps Porzingis left in the second half due to an ankle injury. Despite narrowing a 14-point gap to just two points in the final seconds, Boston couldn't complete the comeback. Jaylen Brown commented on their slow start, saying they were too casual and lacked aggression early in the game.

Brown observed that his team wasn't moving quickly enough or pushing the ball down the court effectively. This sluggishness allowed Philadelphia to capitalize and maintain control throughout most of the match.

Philadelphia's ability to maintain focus and execute plays effectively was evident throughout this matchup. Their performance against a strong opponent like Boston highlights their potential as they aim for more consistent success this season.
