Chakvetadze opens Den Bosch with win

AMSTERDAM, June 17 (Reuters) Russia's Anna Chakvetadze came from a set down to beat Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 5-7 6-2 6-2 today in the first round of the Den Bosch open, one of the last grasscourt tournaments before Wimbledon.

French Open quarter-finalist Chakvetadze, ranked eighth in the world, needed almost two hours to beat Azarenka, ranked 51st, in the Dutch town and will meet either Sania Mirza of India or Italy's Francesca Schiavone in the second round.

The tournament gets into full swing tomorrow when defending champion Michaella Krajicek meets Argentina's Gisela Dulko and last year's runner-up Dinara Safina plays Camille Pin of France.
