Challenger Casamayor says he will knock out WBA champ Khan 'dead'

By Super Admin

London, June 4(ANI): Former WBA super-featherweight and lightweight champion Joel Casamayor has issued a death threat to British boxer Amir Khan.

The threat comes ahead of the Casamayor-Khan fight for the WBA light-welterweight title at London's O2 Arena on July 31.

"I am going to knock out Amir Khan dead. I am a four-time world champion in two different weight classes and I am going to prove he's a nobody," The Sun quoted Casamayor, as saying.

The 38-year-old Cuban veteran was selected over a number of other possible opponents in both the lightweight and junior welterweight division, including over WBO lightweight interim champion Michael Katsidis.

Casamayor's manager Luis DeCubas said: "July 31 is the date we're ighting Amir. The money hasn't been squared 100 per cent but e're working on that now." (ANI)
