The Round 2 of the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025, held at the Hyatt Regency in Chennai, saw Germany’s Vincent Keymer take sole leadership in the Masters section with a strong victory over India’s V Pranav. Meanwhile, American Grandmaster Ray Robson caused the biggest upset of the day by defeating Vidit Gujrathi in a sharp tactical encounter.
Top seed Arjun Erigaisi was held to a draw by Dutch GM Jorden van Foreest. Similarly, Anish Giri and Nihal Sarin shared the points in a well-contested game, while the match between Karthikeyan Murali and Awonder Liang also ended evenly.

In the Challengers section, Indian GM Iniyan Pa impressed with a clinical victory over GM Harika Dronavalli. GM Abhimanyu Puranik also bounced back strongly with a win against Leon Luke Mendonca. The other games — Diptayan Ghosh vs. M Pranesh, Adhiban B vs. Vaishali R, and Harshavardhan GB vs. Aryan Chopra — all concluded in closely fought draws.
