India's impressive performance at the Chess Olympiad 2024 continued on Saturday, September 14, as both the men's and women's teams notched dominant wins in Round 4.
Building on their strong starts in earlier rounds, the Indian teams continued to dominate with outstanding displays against Serbia and France, respectively.

The Indian men's squad secured a decisive 3.5-0.5 triumph over Serbia, while the Indian women's team delivered a commanding 3.5-0.5 win against France.
India's men's team maintained their impressive form with a convincing victory over Serbia. The team, spearheaded by GM Gukesh Dommaraju, GM Arjun Erigaisi, and GM Vidit Gujrathi, showed their prowess with a series of decisive wins.
GM Gukesh Dommaraju (2758) set the tone with a win over GM Alexandr Predke (2667) on the top board. Following his lead, GM Arjun Erigaisi (2732) secured a victory against GM Aleksandar Indjic (2611), furthering India's advantage.
GM Vidit Gujrathi (2723) continued the trend by defeating GM Velimir Ivic (2610). Although GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu (2720) was held to a draw by GM Alexey Sarana (2691), India's overall performance ended in a solid 3.5-0.5 victory.
The Indian women's team, led by GM Dronavalli Harika, delivered a strong performance against France. GM Harika Dronavalli (2515) initiated the win by defeating GM Deimante Daulyte-Cornette (2408). On the second board, WGM Vaishali Rameshbabu (2430) played to a draw against IM Sophie Milliet (2385).
The rest of the team contributed significantly, with IM Divya Deshmukh (2410) securing a win against WGM Mitra Hejazipour (2295) and WGM Tania Sachdev (2372) defeating WIM Natacha Benmesbah (2260), sealing a 3.5-0.5 victory for India.
In Round 3, the Indian men's team showcased their dominance with a convincing 3.5-0.5 win over Hungary B. GM Gukesh Dommaraju, GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, and GM Arjun Erigaisi each delivered victories, while GM Vidit Gujrathi contributed with a draw.
The Indian women's team also excelled in Round 3, overpowering Switzerland with a 3-1 scoreline. GM Vaishali Rameshbabu and IM Divya Deshmukh led the charge with crucial wins, while GM Dronavalli Harika and IM Vantika Agrawal played pivotal roles in securing a strong win for India.
