London, Aug 22: An England cricket club is all set to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by playing charity marathon cricket for 35 long hours.
Chestfield Cricket Club, a member of Kent Cricket Club, will take on Oakwood Homes XI on September 8 in a world record cricket match, organised for raising funds for the Pilgrims Hospice, the Club's official website reported.
The club hopes that they will earn an excess of 10,000 pounds from the proceeds of the match which will go as charity.
The current world record of 34 hours was being held by Red Row Sports Club of Northumberland, closely followed by Citipoint of Australia who played constant cricket for 33.5 hours.
As a preparatory camp, the club is also running coaching clinics for youngsters on the night before the attempt, which will attended by former Kent players Vince Wells, Chris Penn, Mark Dobson Ben Trott and former Leicestershire and Essex wicket-keeper Neil Burns among others.
