Chirag, Vasco qualify for the final round

Duler, Mar 14 (UNI) South East Central Railway (SECR) held formidable Chirag United, Kolkata, to a goaless draw in the ONGC Second Division National Footall league match at Mapusa in North Goa today.

Local Vasco sports club, topping the table with nine points, and Chirag United with eight points from four outings qualified for the final round to be played in Kerala.

The third team in the Goa leg for the final phase will be decided when ONGC, Mumbai, presently with seven points, clash with South East Central Railway (five points) in their last round match on March 17. Draw is sufficent for ONGC while SEC Railway needs outright win to qualify.

In the last round from tomorrow, Vasco will take on Punjab Police and on March 16 Chirag United will meet SBT only to decide point tally.

At the end of the fourth round, Vasco sports club were the table with nine points, followed by Chirag United with eight points, ONGC seven, SECR five, SBT four and Punjab Police at the bottom with no points to its crdit.
