Reno (Nevada): Aug 6: An erractic Daniel Chopra blew away a top-10 finish opportunity, carding a four-over 76 in the last round to end tied 30th at the Reno-Tahoe Open here.
Overnight tied 13th, Chopra mixed five bogeys and a double bogey with just three birdies as he took his four-day aggregate to two-under 286, 13 strokes behind the winner, Steve Flesch of the United States, whose level par show was good enough to fetch him a wire-to-wire win, first by any golfer on the PGA Tour this year, by five strokes.
Americans Kevin Stadler (70) and Charles Warren (71) finished tied second with 10-under.
Indian-born Swede Chopra began the day ominously, making a bogey and double bogey on the second and third hole. He recovered with two birdies on the next two holes but a birdie-bogey end to the front nine saw him making the turn at one-over.
Three bogeys on a birdie-less back nine effective put paid to any hopes Chopra might have had of recovery.
