Chopra finish tied 22nd at Australian Masters

By Staff

Huntingdale, Australia, Nov 30 (UNI) Indian-origin Swede Daniel Chopra mantained his consistency to card one-under 71 on the final day of the Australian Masters to finish tied 22nd here today.

Amassing a total of three-under 285, Chopra, who was the winner of two PGA Tour titles, had two birdies, both on back nine and one bogey on front nine in his final round.

Australia's Rod Pampling won the tournament after edging out his compatriot Marcus Fraser at the third play-off hole at Huntingdale Golf Club. The duo went into a play-off after being locked at the top of the final round leaderboard on 12 under par.

However, Victorian Fraser's final round was studded with brilliant seven under par 65, which included just one bogey, while Pampling signed for a fourth round 65 despite having birdie chances at his last three holes which would have sealed the winner's place for him.

Queensland's Pampling grabbed victory on the third play-off hole when he was left with a simple three foot par putt to claim his first victory on the European tour.
