Churchill destroy Md. Sporting

Kolkata, May 2 (UNI) Mohammedan Sporting were ploughing the deepest furrows of the sea after being annihilated 1-4 by a rampaging Churchill Brothers in an ONGC National Football League encounter at the Salt Lake stadium here today.

The Goans made merry of a non-existent Mohammedan Sporting unit and scored once in the first session before adding three more after the breather.

Odafe Okolie was the man behind the black-and-white brigade's misery scoring all the four goals. He scored in the 31st, 46th, 63th and 76th minutes.

Mohammed Nizam scored a consolation goal for the already relegated Kolkata side in the 65th minute.

With today's win Churchill moved up the ladder to the third spot in the League table. They have 26 points from 17 outings.

Sporting have 12 points from as many outings.

The black-whites which had a woeful season are staring down the barrel.
