Churchill's Odafa Okolie, scourge for United SC

By Staff

Kolkata, Oct 11 (UNI) Odafa Okolie is a fear factor for United SC as the hosts take on Churchill Brothers in the ONGC's I-League's third round tomorrow here after a brief vacation due to festival across the country.

After a dramatic win in the second I-League match against Durand Cup winners Mahindra United, coach Subrata Bhattacharjee who is now sensing danger for his side from the Nigerian, told the boys to stop Odafa or face the consequences.

Odafa's two goals in Churchill Brothers's 2-1 win against the Jeepmen in the opener at home signalled for many outfits that the Nigerian would trouble many in the national league championship.

Zoran Djordjevic praising his boys after a short workout today, told reporters that his mission in Bengal was to return home with the full three points before round four begins on October 19 at home versus Sporting Clube de Goa.

The Siberian said his new assignment was a challenging one and his motto was to win the championship.

Refuting allegations that Odafa was temperamental, Djordjevic said he was one of the most obedient strikers he ever had and his team was playing like a well-knit unit.

Odafa said he was raring to go against the Kolkata outfit and a win at this trip was his only aim.

Churchill Brothers after first the match, earned full three points and their second match was postponed as rivals Dempo had national duty in the AFC championship.

Newly promoted United SC, after being thrashed 1-3 in the campaign opener against East Bengal, salvaged important three points from Mahindra United in the away match.
