Coleen Rooney feared she would never have kids

London, July 26 (ANI): England footballer Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen has revealed that she feared that it would be a struggle for her to conceive.

In fact, Coleen said that when she saw the first positive pregnancy test, she had to take another 10 just to convince herself there was no mistake.

The couple, both 23 years old, tied the knot last summer in Italy and are expecting their first baby in October.

In her first interview about the pregnancy, Coleen said that it was only when a doctor confirmed the news she finally accepted it was actually true.

"I did loads of tests. I bought one test that actually said how many weeks you were pregnant. The first time it said one to two weeks but I did another few tests just because I couldn't really believe it," the Mirror quoted Coleen as saying.

"Obviously I was over the moon but it was weird because I didn't expect to be pregnant for some reason, so when it came up positive I was quite shocked.

"Then I went to the doctor and got them to test me, to make sure that I really was pregnant. After that I finally believed it, but every week I still did another test just to see if it went up week by week," she added.

Coleen has revealed that she and Wayne were worried that parenthood might never happen for them.

Coleen's mum Colette needed medical help to fall pregnant and Coleen feared the problems might be hereditary.

"People just take it for granted sometimes that they can have children but you can't always. My mum suffered for seven years trying to have me," she said.

"She went through operation after operation and had me after taking fertility drugs and sometimes I thought that could have happened to me. I wondered if it ran in the family. So I'm just made up I'm pregnant now. I feel very lucky that I can have children and hopefully I'll have a healthy baby," she added. (ANI)
