Confident India eves play Japan tomorrow in first Friendship game

New Delhi, June 18 (UNI) With convincing victories in their two warm up games boosting their confidence, India eves take on Japan in the first of the four-match Friendship hockey series in Tenri-Osaka tomorrow.

The Mamta Kharab-led Indians blanked 2005 Japanese champion side Nanto Bank 3-0 in their opening warm-up game on Saturday before defeating Tenri University 3-1 yesterday.

Mamta, Surinder Kaur and Saba Anjum were among goals in the game against Nanto.

In the second game against 2006 Japanese champions, Tenri University, the Indians staged a fightback from one goal down with Suman Bala, Saba and Mamta converting a penalty corner each, according to information received here.

The next three matches of the Friendship series will be played on June 21, 23 and 24.
