Confident Indian Boxing contingent leaves for Beijing

New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) With the hope of winning medal in Olympics, Indian Boxing Contingent left for Beijing early today.

The Indian contingent, comprising five boxers, two coaches, one physio and one manager left Delhi in the wee hours and will reach Beijing by noon.

South African Physiotherapist Heath Mathews will leave later today.

Olympic qualifier Akhil Kumar said, ''I will give my best shot and do whatever it takes to win the medal.'' Boxing Federation president Abhay Singh Chautala also wished all the boxers good luck and hoped for a good finish at the event.

He said the whole country had faith in the five boxers and was hopeful that prayers of millions of Indian boxing lovers will not go in vain.

The mega event gets underway from August 8 to 24.
