Cooking crazy Becks launches new healthy food range in England

By Staff

London, October 17 : Football ace David Beckham has launched a new food range at Wembley, England.

His range includes 12 dishes most liked by his family, including fish fingers, pasta, wraps and omelettes.

The LA Galaxy star decided to open this business hoping that it would inspire his kids to eat good food.

"As a dad I know how hard it can be to get kids to eat fruit and vegetables and things they need but these are meals they would probably eat already. They are just more healthy and are designed to get the kids eating the things they need without necessarily realising they are eating well," British tabloid The Sun quoted him as saying.

"Even the porridge has got vegetables in it. That doesn't sound very good, and obviously you can't taste the vegetables, but it's got all the nutrients kids need.

"I am not saying that every meal kids eat should be healthy or that kids shouldn't be allowed pizzas, burgers or things like that. But they should have a balanced and healthy diet," he added.

The former England captain also revealed that he loved to prepare meals himself, and that fish finger sandwiches with ketchup were still a favorite.

"I love doing the cooking. I am not saying I am any good but I like to do it. I cook and Victoria cooks. She is great with mincemeat," he said.

Beckham said that his sons, parents, and in-laws were all involved in the tasting sessions for the new meals.

He said: "I like to be hands-on with everything I am involved with. If it has my name on it, it has to be the right product. But the funny thing was that when the GO3 people came to me with ideas for the meals, the majority of them were stuff which were favourites of mine when I was a kid."

He further said that his mother insisted that he ate healthily as a kid, and it was still paying off.

"I'm 33, still enjoying it, and with 107 caps for my country. I couldn't be prouder," he added.
