Corporate Sports Fest 'Josh' from Nov 24

Pune, Nov 14 (UNI) Over 1000 players from 75 corporate houses in the city will be seen in action at the inter-corporate multi sports fiesta ''Josh: Corporate Sports Fest 07'' being presented by Goel Ganga Developments and Mahanagar Constructions, and organised by Concern India Foundation at the Hari Ganga Complex from November 24 to December 8.

The participants will be drawn from various sectors such as banking, IT, BPO's, insurance, telecommunication and other industries, Goel Ganga chairman Subash Goel said, adding the event helps in building a bridge between various corporates in the city.

Mahanagar Constructions director Chetan Patel, who is the chief organiser of the event, and Raju Thakwani said looking at last year's response, it has been decided to host the event for the second consecutive year.

Concern India Foundation branch head Malvika Gaur said, ''The event will help us to raise funds for the Concern India Foundation and create awareness amongst the city's corporates about the projects undertaken by us.'' The technical director of the event, Mr Jehan Kothary, said for the first time, Pune's corporate who's who will enjoy a three-km run during the event.

The events at ''Josh'' will include Badminton (Men and Women: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles), Table Tennis (Men and Women: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles), Tennis (Men and Women: Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles). There will also be other events like Chess (Men and Women), Pool Billiards (Men and Women) - Singles, Squash (Men and Women singles), Swimming (Men and Women: 50 mtrs, 100 mtrs in Freestyle and Butterfly). The team events to be held on a league-cum-knock out basis would include Basketball, Football Super5, Tug of War, Volleyball, Best Physique and Gymnastic events.

Western India Football Association vice president and Bharati Vidyapeeth secretary Vishwajeet Kadam will inaugurate the event. The opening ceremony will also be graced by Fujitsu vice president Jitender Tanna, Airtel general manager Rajiv Mitra, and ABN Amro vice president Nishit Jain.
