Country's top cueists to participate in Manisha Invitation

Pune, May 28 (UNI) The third edition of the Poona Club-Manisha Invitation Open Snooker Championship, which will begin here tomorrow, has attracted the cream of country's international cueists.

The tournament, which will go on till June 12, will witness participation of the seven times world champion Geet Sethi, along with other internationals like Yasin Merchant, Pankaj Advani, Devendra Joshi, Aditya Mehta, Alok Kumar, Saurav Kothari, Manan Chandra Kunal Chawla and Brijesh Darmani, who have been directly seeded into the last stage, tournament director Mr Shatilal Sanghvi said.

The preliminary round of the championship has received a whopping response from local cueists, as a total of 128 cueists will be locking horns to gain their berth in the pre-quarter, Mr Sanghvi said.

This year the total prize money has been raised to Rs three lakhs, with the winner pocketing a cheque of Rs one lakh, he said.
