Cullinan advises Australia not to play Krejza

By Staff

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Former South African batsman Daryll Cullinan has advised the Australian team not to include off-spinner Jason Krejza in the playing XI for the opening Test against India that begins later this week in Bangalore.

Krejza was almost certain to get his maiden Test cap after leg-spinner Bryce McGain was flown back due to an injury and Cameron White was aked to join the visiting team as a replacement.

However, a spineless performance in the four-day match against Board President's XI where he gave away 199 runs in his 31 overs of the match has forced the team management to consider White for the first Test.

Cullinan, who was regarded as South Africa's better players of spin bowling during his playing days, didn't seem to think Krejza posed any threat to the Indian batsmen.

''He is one Australian spinner I would like to face,'' Cullinan told CNN-IBN.

''I think I would prefer sitting him out from the series. As it is, it's been the pacers who have set up series wins for Australia recently and you should back your four seamers to do the job,'' he added.
