Stephen Curry has confirmed he will not participate in the Golden State Warriors' crucial Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to an injury. Curry, who has been absent for the last three games of their Western Conference semifinals, sustained a hamstring injury during their Game 1 win. The Warriors are now trailing 3-1 in the series and must secure a victory to extend their season.
The Timberwolves secured a 117-110 victory in Game 4, with Anthony Edwards leading his team by scoring 30 points and providing five assists. Curry, who averaged 24.5 points during the regular season, mentioned that his participation in Game 5 is doubtful pending further evaluation on Wednesday. "Even if I wanted to be Superman, I couldn't," Curry remarked about his left hamstring injury.

The "Superman" comment was a nod to Draymond Green's statement after the Warriors' recent loss. In the first playoff round against the Houston Rockets, Curry averaged 24 points, along with 5.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists over seven games. Although he scored 13 points in less than half a game against Minnesota in Game 1, Green emphasized that Curry should not rush back for Game 5.
"No, we're not going to Superman this thing," Green stated when asked about Curry's potential return for their next game. He added that if Curry is fit to play, he will certainly do so. However, Green stressed there is no need for Curry to push himself unnecessarily.
Green highlighted that it is crucial for the team to focus on winning regardless of whether Curry plays or not. He mentioned that Rick Celebrini, the Warriors' vice president of player health and performance, along with others, will assess Curry's condition thoroughly before making any decisions.
The Warriors need to strategize effectively without relying solely on Curry's presence. They must aim for a collective effort from all players to overcome their current deficit in the series.
