Curry Relieved After Impressive Return To Warriors Following Injury Scare

Stephen Curry expressed relief at being able to continue playing for the Golden State Warriors after narrowly avoiding a more severe injury. Curry returned to action following a two-game absence, contributing to the Warriors' 111-95 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. He played 34 minutes, scoring 23 points and making five 3-pointers, despite hitting only seven of his 21 attempts.

In addition to Curry's efforts, Jimmy Butler added 18 points and secured 10 rebounds, while Jonathan Kuminga contributed 16 points. Their combined performance helped Golden State secure the win against an injury-hit Pelicans team. The Warriors had previously lost both games without Curry but managed to bounce back with this victory.

Curry's recent scare came from a fall during a game against the Toronto Raptors. Fortunately, he avoided a hairline fracture in his tailbone, which was initially feared due to a similar incident in the past. Reflecting on the situation, Curry said, "It just reminded me of '21 when I fell into the stairs in Houston." He emphasized that although it was a deep contusion, he could still play without worsening it.

Curry mentioned feeling good physically before the injury and remained optimistic about the remaining games. "I felt good before it [the injury]. I mean, I know there's all that talk with the volume or the load that I've been through," he stated. With nine games left in their season, Curry emphasized the importance of winning as many as possible.

Head coach Steve Kerr praised Curry's performance upon his return. "I thought he looked great," Kerr commented. Despite missing several late three-point attempts, Kerr noted that Curry appeared to be in excellent form and believed that having a week off had been beneficial for him.

The Warriors currently hold seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 42-31. Their next challenge is against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. This game is part of a crucial six-game road trip as they aim for a top-six seeding in their conference.
