CWG 2014 Shooting: Jitu Rai wins gold with new record, Gurpal takes silver

Glasgow, July 28: India's Jitu Rai set a new Finals Games Record on way to clinching gold in the men's 50 Metres Pistol event at the Commonwealth Games 2014 here on Monday.

It was one-two for India in this shooting event as Gurpal Singh took the silver. Armyman Rai, with 194.1 points in the final set a new record. Gurpal totalled 187.2 points to finish second. In the qualification too, the 26-year-old from Lucknow had set a Games record with 562 points.

Earlier this month, Jitu had become the world number one shooter in air pistol event. This was after becoming the first Indian to win two medals at a single World Cup.
