  • Soman Rana (Men's Shot Put F57)- Soman Rana delivered a historic finish in the men's Shot Put F57 final. Rana clinched gold with a season-best throw of 13.40m.
  • Sakshi Chaudhary (Women's 51kg Boxing)- Sakshi Chaudhary clinched Commonwealth Games 2026 gold after dominating England's Ruby White with a comprehensive 5-0 victory. White, the 2024 U19 World Champion and 2026 Golden Girls Boxing Cup winner, was unable to match Sakshi's commanding performance.
  • Priya Ghanghas (Women's 60kg Boxing)- Priya Ghanghas showed incredible grit and composure to script a sensational comeback and win the Women's 60kg Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
  • Arundhati Chaudhary (Women's 70kg Boxing)- Arundhati Chaudhary clinched the gold medal in the women's 70kg boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with a commanding 5-0 victory over England's Chantelle Reid. Interestingly, Reid herself was a 2025 World Championships bronze medallist (Liverpool) but had no answers to the relentless punches of the Indian boxers.
  • Sachin Siwach (Men's 70kg Boxing)- Sachin Siwach secured the gold medal in the men's 60kg boxing category at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He claimed the top spot on Saturday, August 1, 2026, after edging past Namibia's Tryagain Morning Ndevelo in a thrilling final, winning 3-2 on a split decision.
  • Ankush Panghal (Men's 80kg Boxing)- Ankush Panghal delivered a composed and clinical performance to overcome England's Shittu Dimeji 4-1 on a split decision in the men's 80kg final. Despite trailing on most judges' scorecards after the opening round, the Indian boxer responded strongly, unleashing powerful combinations and precise counter-attacks to take control and dominate the remaining rounds.

CWG 2026: India's Performance In Glasgow vs Birmingham

India won 22 gold medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. While the Indian contingent has already secured seven gold medals at the ongoing 2026 edition, comparisons should be made cautiously, as this year's Games are being held in a truncated format, with fewer events than the previous edition.

CWG 2026: Boxing Rules The Roost

For India, one of the major medal contentions have been the pugilists who have managed to reach the finals of the CWG 2026 across weight categories. India is assured of at least 10 gold medals from these medal matches.

Of India's 10 boxers competing at the Games, four have already clinched gold medals. With established stars such as Lovlina Borgohain still in contention, the Indian contingent will be hopeful of adding another two or three medals from boxing, potentially strengthening the country's overall medal tally significantly.
