CWG infra: Kejriwal moves files, FIR likely against Sheila Dikshit

By IANS English
New Delhi, Feb 6: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday moved the files relating to the preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which means that an FIR will be filed against Sheila Dikshit, a government source said.

"The chief minister has already moved the files to the ACB which means that an FIR will now be filed against Sheila Dikshit," the sources told IANS.

The issue relates to alleged irregularities in the procurement of items at inflated prices in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games when Sheila Dikshit was the Delhi chief minister.

Arvind Kejriwal, soon after becoming the chief minister of Delhi in December, vowed to initiate moves against his predecessor Sheila Dikshit on charges of corruption, something he had promised before the election. On Thursday, he reportedly directed the anti-corruption bureau to probe charges that Dikshit had played a role in purchasing imported street-lighting at inflated prices.

Also on February 3, the AAP-led government had written to President Pranab Mukherjee seeking a probe into how Dikshit authorised illegal colonies in 2008.

Sheila Dikshit served as the chief minister of Delhi for 15 years.
